flea and tick prevention

Ticks have been terrible this summer.  A mild winter and a drought has really brought them out.  Even walking down the middle of the driveway doesn't stop the ticks from climbing up the dogs and my legs.

when it is time to medicate with a top spot, I am going to try Advantix II.  I have been using Frontline Plus for years and swear by the product but it does not repel the ticks.  They must attach to the dog, then they are killed in short order.  But hopefully, the Advantix will repel the ticks and keep them from climbing up the dogs legs.

My dogs go frantic when they feel a tick on them so it is an unpleasant walk when they are constantly checking themselves for ticks.

We shall see.
